Samsung account

A Samsung account gives you access to Samsung services across your devices, like your phone, tablet, or TV. It lets you use exclusive apps, back up your data, and find your phone if you lose it. You can set up an account from your Samsung device, a computer, or your TV.

Before you begin, you need a stable internet connection and a working email address. Samsung will send a verification message to this email, so make sure you enter it correctly. You will also provide your name, birth date, and a phone number for security.

Create an Account on Your Phone or Tablet

The most direct way to create a Samsung account is on your Galaxy phone or tablet.

  1. Open the Settings app on your device.
  2. Tap Samsung account at the top of the screen. On some devices, you may need to go to Accounts and backup first, then select Manage accounts and Add account.
  3. Select Create account. You might see options like “Forgot password or don’t have an account?” before this step.
  4. Review and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  5. Enter your email, create a password, and fill in your personal details. Your email address will become your Samsung account username.
  6. Tap the Create account button.
  7. Set up Two-step verification by entering your phone number. You will receive a code to verify it.
  8. Finally, validate your email address. Tap the “Go to inbox” prompt and follow the instructions in the email to activate your account.

Create an Account on a Computer

You can also set up your account using a web browser on a computer.

  1. Click Create account.
  2. Agree to the Terms and Conditions.
  3. Enter your email address, password, name, and birth date.
  4. Complete the Two-step verification with your phone number.
  5. Check your email for a verification message and follow the link to activate your account.

Create an Account on Your Samsung TV

You can create an account directly from your Samsung TV.

  1. Navigate to the Home screen on your TV.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Go to General & Privacy and then System Manager.
  4. Choose Samsung Account and follow the on-screen instructions to sign in or create a new account.

After Setup

Once your account is active, you can manage your information. On your mobile device, go to Settings, tap your Samsung account, and then Profile info to change your name, phone number, or other details. On a computer, log in at account.samsung.com and go to your profile to edit your information.

Keep in mind that there are minimum age requirements to create a Samsung account, and they vary by country. For example, the minimum age is 13 in the United States and Canada, 14 in the United Kingdom, 16 in Germany, and 18 in Mexico.
